As my daughter sat in front of the living room picture window, wearing and admiring her brand new coat, whilst giant, puffy snow flakes fell gently outside behind her through the bright but diffused afternoon light, I thought to myself, "Hey, that would make a nice picture." So I said, "Hey, get your boots on before the baby wakes up."
This is the first photo I took. She only lasted about 10 minutes before complaining about the cold. My husband said that he liked the photo, but that her halfway buttoned top button bothered him, and that it could be photoshopped. I said, "No it can't. The button stays," Without looking up from the mail he was sorting, my husband, in his infinite wisdom replied, "Life is like an unbuttoned button. Sometimes it's not buttoned."
